Digger, a bittersweet reflection on what the arts can do to hinder powerful oligarchs…not much. But no matter how bleak society becomes, art remains the de facto means we the people cope and deal with our emotions and communicate our experiences.

Regardless of how much the art rings true to current society. We are still forced to re enter our reality no matter how bleak it may be. And despite the many warnings and expert opinions powerful leaders are given. Our fates still lie in the hands of the “Elite” making the right decisions when no one’s looking. We’re fucked…

With the parallels between the current American administration in conjunction with the old guard of the Bush administration, it’s painfully obvious why there was such a rage boner to get this film buried and sadly I guess it worked.
Digger also felt like a farewell to Warner Bros. as we know it. Something about the opening and ending credits showing the classic Warner Bros logo with no Skydance in sight (Yet, just wait until it hits streaming if ever)

Besides my very minimal critiques, (The color grading, and one too on the nose scene for my taste) I can’t for the life of me understand why so many “critics” hated it…unless it was a call from their upstairs superiors. Or more fittingly, their downstairs superiors.
