How would you explain your sense of style/design?

Playful, with a sense of humor. I don’t take fashion too seriously, which may be a bit of a paradox because it is my job. Design and style is my way to tell stories, but also to amuse myself.

I noticed you post some graphic artists you admire (Moebius, Milo Manara) Do these artists inspire your design sensibilities and how?
I love Manara and his gorgeous illustrations. But I wouldn’t say he has any kind of direct influence on my work. On the other hand, Moebius has had a direct impact on my designs, particularly through his color palette and sci-fi aesthetic. Both of them are exceptional artists, though.

Do you have a favorite piece of erotic fiction/art?
Manara’s “Butterscotch”.

What are some of your favorite films and why?
It is hard to say. Maybe at this moment the 1980s Yugoslavian movie “Balkan spy”, because the main paranoid character reminds me of myself. Also, Scorsese’s “After hours”. The vibe of that movie is the vibe of my current life. And Bigas Luna’s “Jamon, Jamon”, the film that explores the intricate dynamics of love, social positions, and class differences.

Being you’re from Europe lol what’s the most shocking piece of art or film that you’ve seen?
Perhaps “A Serbian Film” from some years back, but solely for the shock value. Of course, Pasolini’s “Salo, 120 Days of Sodom” comes to mind as an art film.
To be honest, American cinematography is more shocking to me. European movies, even if they include shocking scenes, tend to convey a sense of calmness and proceed at a slower tempo compared to American or Asian movies.
What was the experience like moving to Italy to work at Versace?
I officially moved to Italy because of my Master studies, but actually my main motivation was to work in my favorite brand Versace, and somehow I did it. And I found the experience of working there extremely valuable.
However, as is often the case with dreams, once they are realized and demystified, they tend to lose their magic.
What were some of the things you picked up on or learned during your time at Versace?

I gained a significant amount of knowledge about print design. They are the best in that field, and I was lucky to have a chance to learn from major experts.
What is the Belgrade Socialist Modernism project?
belgradesocialmodernism.com is an online archive of social modernist objects in Belgrade. I was searching for such archive online and when I realized that something like that doesn’t exist I decided to build up the website and an Instagram page. That happened during the Covid period, I had some extra time to be creative during the lockdown 🙂
Both the websites and the Instagram page became surprisingly and unexpectedly popular very quickly, which I did not expect at all.

If you were to be head of a big brand which brand would it be?
It would be ideal if some nice investor injected funds into my brand, so my brand becomes big. Also, would be nice to be a creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier since we were born on he same day. This must mean something 🙂 Besides that, I aspire to establish a Maine Coon cat kennel.
How do you think Ai will affect fashion and art?
I want to believe that it will have a positive effect. I don’t think AI will ever be able to completely replace designers, but it will be a useful tool that can speed up the process.
If AI does change designers, it will change them in brands like Sheen or Temu, but those brands are controversial anyway in terms of ethics and worker’s pay, so in their case it’s probably better to have robots working for them.
